Just going to be titles to my 365 blog this year... just like Mitzi does!!! No description, just titles!

Happy New Year... What happened in 09... What we look forward to in 2010!

So, tons of things happened in 2009... Many planned and expected things, such as going to the numerous football and basketball games for Michigan State, learning how to snowboard, keeping my vow to not take any work home over the weekends, finally (after three years) getting myself a doctor and a dentist in California, reading a book a month, being able to see one of my VERY BEST friends Chayla and Darreal for the first time in 2 1/2 years since she was in our wedding, being able to stand next to my best friend Lauren as her matron of honor as she married the love of her life, went and experienced a few more things in California... went to the Hollywood Bowl with Mitzi to see Faith Hill, went hiking, went whale watching, went to Tahoe, while snowboarding visited various mountains and ski resorts. We renewed our season football season tickets yet again for Michigan State football and was worth every penny!!!! We saw Michigan State beat the University of Michigan LIVE and in person!!!! I dabbled a bit in the kitchen this year and learned how to make a couple of really good easy dishes. And as the year came to an end, and my top fifty goals I wanted to accomplish neared to a close, Brady and I decided to do the unthinkable, and actually go through with driving all the way from California to Michigan for winter break!

The unexpected....
A lot of things unexpected happened in 2009 as well... My sister getting engaged... and then married within four months in Aruba. Because of this we were able to fly out to Aruba over a long weekend with Mitzi and spend some good quality time with family and friends! It was awesome being able to stand next to my sister in her wedding and being there for her on her big day. I did not expect to become ADDICTED to snowboarding, and my wonderful husband has supplied me with all I need to continue my obsession with snowboarding, he gave me the board, the bindings, and boots for my birthday last April, and then for Christmas this year... to make sure I am safe he got me the helmet and the goggles! Running a half marathon.... OMG I know, all of you know that know me, know that I can not stand to run, but I got motivated while watching the Biggest Loser, and then my friend Tracy and I decided to sign up for the Las Vegas Rock n Roll Marathon! By far the hardest thing I have done in my life, but also one of the very coolest! I thank everyone who cheered for and supported me! Cancun! Brady and I had planned on doing an Alaskan cruise last summer, but it was going to end up being to expensive and too long of a trip to fit everything in, so instead we put Hawaii, Costa Rica, Cancun, and some others into a hat and literally drew out of a hat to see where we would end up spending our summer vacation... We ended up in Cancun and it was fabulous! It was both of ours first time staying at an all inclusive and it was FABULOUS!!! Relaxed the whole week and met some very cool people! Then there was the most crazy and emotional time was the Pink slip I received in March... and in this day in age with the economy as wacky as it is we can't even take our jobs for granted, and boy did I learn that lesson! Everything ended up working out, but I have learned that I just have to take things in stride and roll with the changes, everything will work out regardless! And of course another unexpected was Brady and I being able to go to the Final Four in Detroit to root on our Spartans in the Final Four AND the National Championship game! I am so lucky to have a husband who will go ahead and travel with me and feed into my crazy MSU obsessions! No National Champions this past year, but there is always 2010!

Ups and downs and all around craziness happened during 2009 and I loved (almost) every bit of it! I have spent numerous trips to Michigan visiting with family, friends, and Michigan State! And I appreciate all of the effort people make coming out and seeing us when we make our way out here, it means a lot to us! We cherish all of our friendships even if we only see you guys a few times a year! I have spent numerous hours just hanging with Brady's family and I have realized over the past year how lucky I am to have such an awesome "in law" family! I wouldn't want it any other way! Thanks to all of those who have come out and visited Brady and I out in California!!!! And please remember our doors are wide open for visitors this year!

What do we look forward to in 2010? More Michigan State events... looking into the Maui Invitational. St. Lucia for Chay's wedding. Continuiing snowboarding. And whatever else 2010 brings!!!

Hope you all had a great 2009, and look forward to a great 2010! Happy New Year!
