The Week of August 10

This was a big week---

August 10 ~ Breslin started back at Sunshine.  This year he is in Pre-K.  No tears his entire first week back!  Just as his shirt says, he was telling me the entire way to school on his first day how he was going to "be brave" and be really nice to his new friends.

 August 11 ~ Jenison (who also started daycare yesterday... ) turned 2 months old... She continues to gain weight, and just as her brother was, she is a big girl-- almost 12 lbs, which puts her in 3-6 month clothing! She is no longer her "yellow" self...  as the jaundice levels continue to go down, and she did absolutely fabulous getting her three shots at the doctors, barely any crying!  She sleeps anywhere from 5-7 hours straight in the night before needing her first feed, and she is laughing and smiling and cooing whenever she gets the chance!

 August 12 ~ Breslin had his first filling ever at the dentist.  And he did GREAT.  As a reward he got to pick wherever he wanted to go for lunch afterwards, and of course, he chose Chuck E. Cheese.  (He needs two more over the next couple of months because we didn't want to put him under, he just gets numbing on his mouth).

 Still August 12 (the night before the first day of school with students) ~ Call us crazy-- but we (Holly & Jeff, Karen & Jack, Mitzi & the boys, and me) went to the Ventura County Fair to go see the Band Perry.  It was $12 entry into the fair and the concert was free.  Thanks to Mitzi and the Carey's, they got us a nice spot for us in the pit (about 5-10 rows back).  You can see how close we actually were to them.  Even though we did it on a school night (and we were all teachers, and not just any school night, the night before the first day) it was totally worth it and so much fun.  I give major kudos to Brady who kept encouraging me to go over and over again while he put two kiddos to bed for the first time by himself-- and one that is used to nursing before bed, but got a bottle instead!

 

August 15 ~ the power went out at 7:20 am and it was about to be a 100 degree plus day, so out to the pool we went.  Jenison put on a swim diaper (that was WAY to big I might add) and actually got in the pool to cool off.  And then when we couldn't take the heat anymore we headed over to Aunties-- while some of us were flirting and giving smiles to Auntie, others were taking a well needed nap!

And that is our week in a nutshell!

One Month Old-- July 11, 2015

And this little precious is one month old.  She is definitely keeping us on our toes...  As you all can see she has a lovely glowing tan-- jaundice-- we have been going to the docs every two weeks to keep an eye on it....  She also got her first cold just shy under one month-- another thing for us to worry about.  And then there is the food allergy...  just like Brez had...  Your second won't be like the first one {they all said} just because Breslin had it, doesn't mean your next one will {they all said} Well guess what "they" were wrong.... So here's another year with no nuts, egg, seafood, soy, and dairy.  The baby weight will drop fast, however, I will miss all of my favorite foods....  So as much as all of the sacrifices are worth it for both my kiddos... this is it!  Jenison is our last kiddo....  One sweet little boy and one adorable little girl!

Santa Barbara Zoo July 7, 2015

We headed off to the Santa Barbara Zoo to have a little fun with the B man.  Breslin and Oma took a trip around the zoo in the red train.  Breslin had an absolute blast, and Jenison slept the whole time!

Oh... By the Way

We had a baby girl!!!  Jenison Anne Burrill, born 6-11-2015... Weighing in at 7 lbs 11 ounces.  Since then she has already grown past 9 lbs.... The little girlie is an eater!!!!

So it is thought that Jenison may have the same allergies as Breslin did when he was an infant...  Which means, if I continue to nurse (which is the plan) I have to cut out all things that are/contain dairy, soy, nuts, and seafood.... Awesome!  At least the second time around we know what to expect.  I am now on day 3 of the restricted diet-- took a trip to whole foods yesterday to get me some coffee creamer, egg replacer, and some sweets that don't contain any of the above.  The good news is, I will be back to my pre baby weight in no time...  If I find any fabulous recipes in my journey through this restricted diet, I will let you all know!

Brezzer-man's last day of Preschool.  He had such a great year at Sunshine, learned a whole bunch and made some great friends!  We are looking forward to a summer off, then back to Sunshine for Pre-K!

On our last day in Vegas we hit up the M & M store.  Breslin got to choose 4 colors of m & m's that he wanted.  He chose regular green, dark green, pink and red!  Breslin (and mommy) had a blast in the m & m store!  Sad to leave Vegas and fun full days with Breslin.  Back to the grind tomorrow (for three days, then off to Michigan to watch some MSU football and see family and friends).
